Who I Work With
About Me . . .
I have had the privilege of being both a therapist and a hospital chaplain for many years and consider it an honor to be in a position to help those who are looking for support and emotional healing. I have the had the opportunity to live in a number of countries varying from Papua New Guinea (where I was raised) to Australia, England, Sweden and now Southern California. Living in various countries and getting to know people in these places along with my training has provided an opportunity to provide culturally inclusive support to those seeking help.
As a therapist I in am there for individuals, couples and families as they struggle to feel safe sharing struggles because in the words of the late Princess Dianna “when no one listens, all sorts of things can begin to happen.”
My Emphasis . . .
The saying, “What you can talk out, you don’t have to act out,” is important as I seek to provide a safe atmosphere for those of us who are struggling with issues that are concerning. My goal is to help discover and work with the resources you have. Sometimes we may need to explore new resources so that you feel the strength to gain insights, leading to knowing you have more control over your difficulties and struggles. This can lead to new resolutions.
My Values . . .
As a Christian hospital chaplain, university professor and therapist as well as a father of four successful boys, over the years I have had the privilege to work with various belief systems, including my own. Many of these are a core part of one’s identity and can impact one’s life in both positive and negative ways. Helping those I have the privilege to work with as they travel on a healing journey is very meaningful to me.
“Strength is what keeps you hold on… Faith is what assure you that everything matters, but it is Hope that keeps us moving on when everything is going wrong.”
