Who I Work  With

About Me . . .

One-way humans develop relationships is through communication. Communication can be a double-edged sword; it can either help or damage a relationship.  In many ways, I was drawn to marital and family therapy because I wanted to assist people in finding ways to communicate better through the power of language.  In addition, I believe in empowering my clients and restoring hope. I believe clients need to feel understood, and know why something has happened that led them to creating their reality. I also acknowledge my client’s strengths as a way to encourage and motivate the client to change.

My Emphasis . . .

Seeking therapy, especially for the first time may be difficult, frightening, embarrassing, and risky.  As a result, you may either feel discouraged and not seek out treatment or seek treatment only until the situation has become uncontrollable and, or unbearable.

I will therefore, assist you with reducing the negative perceptions about seeking treatment.  Secondly, I assist you in establishing hope by empowering you into believing that you can create change, and that you have the skills necessary to do so.  Lastly, in therapy I will motivate and challenge you to stay hopeful and positive while working towards the change you much desire.

My Unique Qualifications . . .

I have experience working with children, individuals, couples, and families.  Additionally, my training has provided me with the knowledge to work with populations struggling with addiction, trauma, severe mental illness, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, depression, and anxiety.

My Values . . .

It is rewarding to see clients overcome their challenges. Therefore, I strive to be a therapist that creates a safe environment, and a genuine interaction to allow my client(s) to be vulnerable.
